whenever daddy would play cream in the car, he'd turn it up so loud and mom would frown and cover her ears and feign headaches and i would roll my eyes because everything my parents appreciated and imposed on me had to be oh totally lame and totally ridiculous so i didn't really listen when white room shook the speakers in the backseat.
now i'm lying on the carpet, getting burned, losing hearing with my elephant ear headphones on and sound blasting louder than necessary but then again rock and roll is all about the unnecessary necessities. so i'm lying here and i have reminders smeared on my wrists and ink on my finger tips and my hair is dirty and my nail polish is chipped and i'm like a big university study cliche but i'm listening to this cd and i'm feeling completely connected with the floorboards and everything feels better better better....
The tides have carried off the beach,
As you said
the sun is out of reach.
