this poem has nothing to do with God unless you would like it to in which case it is entirely religious

You only wanted the Constellations, built these fortresses to reach Them.
by: JMS [Please do not steal.]

If the light fell on you the same way
it falls on us all,
would you stand so tall before
me? Would my eyes exalt
you still? Your skin
in shades of humility, no melons
and no egg shells.

No sun to illuminate the blue hues
in your hair; no wind to silently
sway your robe. Just you,
your worn silhouette to my right,
my good hand resting against
your hollow cheeks.

Smudging the traces of humanity
from your eyelids,
I feel the rough indecision
of your father's well-practiced brush.
Let him express Truth now
after all your beauty has turned to dust.

I think capitalizing "Father" is going to make people assume it's about God, for sure. Then capitalizing "Him" takes out all the ambiguity. I really like the title though!
