i am an airplane. i am first class. i am flying across the runway, you are anticipating take off so i'll delay it just a few moments longer. i am on the ground, on the ground, in the air. i am flying away from my mother. look down, see the little people. see how they turn to houses, to factories, to Lake Michigan, to the ocean. thanks for coming to the show, earth. i'll be here to answer questions and sign posters all weekend, and then an estimated 80-some years. i am musty, cough-drop air. i'm in the clouds. i'm blinding white seeping in through the boxy ovals. i'm the itchy headrest. i am an airplane, i'm the drop in your stomach, i'm the emergency exit signs, i'm the seat belt holding you back. i'm the monotone voice and the floatation devices that may never have the chance to save you, and thank goodness for that.
